About the Curriculum

The Fox Chapel Area School District utilizes the following curricula:

Fundations 

Based on the Wilson Reading System principles, Wilson Fundations provides research-based materials and strategies essential to a comprehensive reading, spelling, and handwriting program. Wilson Fundations makes learning to read fun while laying the groundwork for lifelong literacy.

Journeys 

Journeys is a comprehensive K-6 English language arts program. It provides an instructional system for reading both literature and informational texts, for acquiring foundational skills, and for developing mastery of speaking, listening and writing.

Eureka Mathematics 

Eureka Math connects math to the real world in ways that build student confidence—helping students achieve true understanding lesson by lesson and year after year.  It is written to present mathematics in a logical progression. This coherent approach allows teachers to know what incoming students already have learned and ensures that students are prepared for what comes next. Eureka Math is shown to dramatically reduce gaps in student learning, instill persistence in problem-solving, and prepare students to understand advanced math.
